Jasmin Alostaz, M.S., LMFT
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and completed my undergraduate Bachelors degree in Psychology at California University, Northridge in 2016. I completed my Masters in Science in Clinical Psychology at California University, Fullerton in 2021.
I have been practicing therapy since 2019, and truly aim to destigmatize mental health, especially within the middle-eastern community due to my upbringing. In my practice, I emphasize authenticity, meaning I will also be authentic in how I show up for my clients as a therapist.
As a middle eastern woman and daughter of immigrant parents, I bring a culturally attuned perspective to my work—supporting adults navigating identity-related challenges, complex family dynamics, and the lasting effects of generational trauma. I aim to create a safe, understanding space where you can feel seen, heard, and empowered to heal. I also speak Arabic fluently, and am happy to provide therapy in Arabic and English (I only speak and understand Levant Arabic).
As a parent myself, I understand the challenges that come with the transition into parenthood. I'm here to support you, offer guidance, and validate the difficulties that can arise during this significant life change.
I love to bring a sense of playfulness and humor into sessions—it’s a great way to lighten the mood and build genuine connections with my clients.
I have a passion for working with adolescents and teens (age 10+). I bring extensive experience from working in elementary and middle-school environments. I specifically have experience in working in the public school system in Washington D.C and California.
In this training, I support children from diverse backgrounds who are facing various challenges, including low self-esteem, ADHD symptoms, parental divorce, complex trauma, and social difficulties. I also make sure to involve parents and/or caregivers in sessions to make sure that treatment is on the right track when working with children, adolescents, and teens.
I often work with individuals experiencing significant depression that impacts their daily lives. In our work together, we’ll explore your inner strengths and develop personalized strategies to manage and cope with your depression. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach—I’ll never push anything that doesn’t feel right for you. Instead, we’ll take a realistic, collaborative approach to address the deeper roots of your depression, at a pace that feels supportive and respectful.
I have extensive experience working with clients navigating grief in its many forms. Grief is not limited to the loss of a loved one— it can arise from the end of a relationship, changes in health, loss of identity, unmet expectations, or major life transitions. I've supported individuals as they process these often overlooked or misunderstood forms of grief, helping them recognize their emotional responses and move through them with compassion. Grief is deeply personal and complex, and I honor each person's unique experience.
